What is microsilica?

Microsilica, also known as Silica Fume, is a very fine-grained, pozzolanic mineral obtained as a by-product in the production of ferrosilicon and silicon alloys. Due to its high percentage of silicon dioxide (SiO2), high specific surface area, and very small particle size, this material has high reactivity and is used as an effective additive in many industries. Microsilica is usually gray or dark gray in color and, due to its special structure, plays an important role in improving the mechanical properties and durability of materials.

Applications of microsilica in industries

Microsilica has a wide range of applications in various industries, especially in concrete and cement. Using this material in concrete increases compressive strength, reduces permeability, improves durability, and increases resistance to chemicals. For this reason, microsilica is widely used in the production of high-strength concrete, high-strength concrete, marine structures, prefabricated parts, refractories, and chemical products. It is also used in the refractory and metallurgical industries as an important material to improve the quality and stability of products.
